Dear Students, Staff, and Families,
As the year winds down and the holiday season begins, we recognize this period holds a unique significance. While the holidays often accelerate our pace, this year we are also taking a moment to pause, reflect, and offer comfort to one another. We extend our thoughts and deepest sympathies to those in our community who have experienced a loss this year.
In this difficult time, the extraordinary spirit of the Catoosa County Public Schools community shines through. Our schools are strengthened by the support of families, local businesses, churches, and community members. This spirit of collaboration is a powerful source of comfort, reminding us that we are a district that stands together to care for one another.
Throughout December, our schools continue to embody the spirit of generosity through initiatives, such as food and toy drives, as well as other charitable efforts. These initiatives, championed by our compassionate students and supported by staff and families, are more than just drives; they are acts of shared kindness that provide tangible nourishment, joy, and hope to those in need. Our school counselors, along with various partners like the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office’s Stocking Full of Love, Communities in Schools, and Angel Tree, have organized gift-giving programs across our schools. These collaborative efforts ensure almost a thousand CCPS families receive essential gifts and support for the holiday season.
Giving at this time extends beyond material items; it includes the priceless gift of presence, compassion, and support. Our teachers, staff, and parents continue to nurture and care for our students, and our students continue to show incredible resilience and empathy for their peers. This season, I encourage everyone to continue sharing their unique gifts, whether by mentoring a peer, lending a helping hand, offering an encouraging word, or simply sharing a moment of togetherness.
As we close out the semester and look toward the new year, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the countless ways each of you contributes to the strength and kindness of our schools. Your commitment and involvement make our district and our community a source of healing and hope.
From the Nix family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season filled with peace, comfort, and best wishes for a new year of opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children.
